Local produce restocked every Tuesday & Friday  ·  Sonoran deli open 8 am – 6 pm daily
Tucson, AZ  ·  Est. 2009

4th Avenue's corner market,
sun‑up to sundown.

Rosa and Marco Reyes have run Sunbeam since 2009 — stocking fresh Sonoran produce grown within a hundred miles of downtown Tucson, housemade tortillas, and the deli counter the neighborhood kept asking for. Under the Catalinas and in the heart of 4th Ave, it's the kind of place you stop in for one thing and stay for twenty minutes.

Our story

Fifteen years of the
same corner, same family.

Rosa Reyes spent twenty years working wholesale produce before she decided she wanted to sell directly to the people who actually eat it. In 2009 she opened Sunbeam Market in the building she'd walked past every day for a decade — a narrow storefront on 4th Avenue with room for exactly what she needed and nothing more.

Her son Marco joined in 2018 and built the deli counter from scratch, developing recipes for the carne seca and tamales that the neighborhood has now made their own. Between the two of them they know every farmer within a hundred miles of the Catalinas, and they stock accordingly — no product travels far and no supplier is anonymous.

Seven days a week, year-round. Sunbeam doesn't close for holidays that the farms don't take.

The neighborhood speaks for itself

★★★★★

The only place in Tucson with fresh chiltepines — and Rosa knows every local grower by name. I've been asking at other markets for years and kept striking out. Found them here on my first visit.

The housemade tortillas are better than any restaurant in town — thinner and more flavorful than anything I've tried. Marco also helped me track down Sonoran cheese I'd been looking for everywhere.

Been coming since 2011. The prickly pear fruit in season is unbeatable — and this place just feels like a real neighborhood institution. Not a boutique, not a chain. Just exactly what 4th Ave needs.
